Lydia is a registered social worker, and member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and the Ontario Association of Social Work (OASW). She holds a Social Service Worker Diploma, a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University, and a Masters of Social Work through Wilfrid Laurier University.
Lydia has worked for years within the London-Middlesex and greater Niagara region, walking alongside those facing trauma, poverty, mental health difficulties, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, addiction, intimate partner violence, relationship struggles, school and/or work related stress and anxiety, among others. She draws on a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
Lydia provides individual counselling to adults and young adults (no younger than 16 years old) in the Burlington office, and Online.
